Tale Three- Simply Put: "Downsized"

Have you seen this show called "Downsized". If you havn't, let me tell you about it. It's a reality show (yes, another one) about this great family, the Bruces. The Bruces are a blended family who were hit really hard by the economy. I know, that initial summary sounds depressing. The thing is, it's actually really inspiring when you sit down and watch it, especially to me personally.

Here is a family who are going through an awful time, and yet, they're not just throwing in the towel. They're not giving up. They're still trying despite the fact that money's tight and they're trying to raise 7 kids (remember, blended family). This is something I whole-heartedly support, and I'm very moved by, because this is something I have to try and do in my life.

Don't worry, I'm not gonna go into some sob story about my life. That's not the point of my blog. But my point here is this: We all have to keep trying, no matter how bad things are. If something isn't working out how you want, figure out what you can do to change that, and do that. If that doesn't work out, try some other plan. The main thing is to keep trying until either it works out, or you reach the ultimate point of no return in that situation. Now who says reality TV can't teach us anything, lol. Stay strong Bruce family, and know that you all are headed for some great things. In fact, you're already there with the show, which, while I can't speak for anyone else, I know is helping this 19 year old girl move forward in her life, no matter what.

On that note peeps, I'm gonna get my Tuesday night reality show fix. TTYL

Tale Two- George Bush and Coffee Cake

Regardless of your opinion of our former President, George W. Bush, I hope you'll at least admit that he handled one of this nation's biggest tragedies better than a lot of men could have as President. I'm, of course, talking about September 11, 2001. Now, I'm not trying to get political here, I'm not that kinda blogger, but it's something that I wanted to mention because it was on my mind last night.

Why was George Bush on my mind? Well last night, I was enjoying some coffee cake with my parents (cause sadly, I still live with them), and we were watching a special on TV where the former President was talking about his 9/11 experience. Just one of the many specials airing right now as part of the hype for the 10th anniversary of the attacks, but it really was rather interesting. To make my point I'll just say this....

You can tell a person's character the best when they're dealing with some kind of crisis, or helping others deal with a crisis, whether it's a politician or someone you dealing with in your everday lives. Now, I know, that's not always a possibility, and who wants to think about someone going through a crisis. It's just something I was thinking about though. Especially since lately it seems like too many people I know are involved in some kind of problem or crisis. Including me. Gee, maybe I should reflect on how I'm dealing with that. Might help. In the meantime, I think I'll got eat another piece of that delicious coffee cake. Did I mention my Mom made some awesome coffee cake? Oh, I did? Great. On that note, til tomorrow my lovely bleaders (yes, I've read Julie and Julia)

Tale One- Introduction

Welcome to my blog :-). Let me start off by addressing something crucial, my name isn't really Jane, as I'm sure many of you have guessed. I won't be posting my real name or where I live for safety reasons, as well as the fact that it's irrelavent to what I wanna say here. Other than those details and some other names and places I might have to disguise, I'll try my best to be completely real with you all in my blog. But remember, we live in a world where people use the internet for some pretty awful purposes. So humor me.

I started this blog for one reason, I'm a writer. I love taking the time to write down my feelings and thoughts on a whole variety of topics. But unfortunately, it's not exactly easy to have a career as a writer, especially in this economic climate. So I suppose sharing them for free on the internet will have to do for now. So sit back, relax, and enjoy stories from the life of a girl who wants nothing more than to live her dreams in the good ole U S of A.
